Workshop Schedule Sonoma

Margot’s Head to Toes Feldenkrais Workshop is a monthly two-hour weekend workshop.  The next four-month workshop series starts with the Head, Neck and Jaw, and proceeds down the body each month, ending with the Knees and Toes. Previous experience is not necessary. Details below.

HEAD, NECK & JAW    Jan. 22nd

When the jaw, head and neck move naturally, they guide the body in effortless, coordinated movement. This workshop will benefit people who find that driving, reading and using a computer put strain on the head and neck that cause stiffness, spinal compression, TMJ, facial pain, headache or decreased range of motion. Learn to support your head, lengthen your  neck, and relax your jaw and face, reducing tension and increasing range of motion. Look and feel younger!

SHOULDERS & UPPER BACK   Feb. 26th

When the shoulders and upper back move naturally, they support the movements of the hands and wrists, providing power for physical labor and stress free computer use. This workshop will benefit people who find that driving, reading and using a computer put strain on the shoulders and upper back causing pain, or range of motion issues, rotator cuff damage or spinal compression. Learn to stand comfortably, work effectively, and reduce upper body tension and pain.

LOWER BACK & HIPS   Mar. 25th

When the pelvis moves naturally, the movements of the upper and lower body are coordinated to produce powerful, precise, and graceful movements.  This workshop will benefit people with stiff hips, low back pain, sciatica, and spinal compression.  Students will learn to sit comfortably, move gracefully, and reduce lower back tension and pain.

KNEES & TOES    Apr. 29th

When the knees, ankles and feet move naturally, they support the rest of the body with equilibrium, flexibility and the ability to change directions as desired. This workshop will benefit people with stiffness, instability, fatigue and pain in the knees or feet. Students will learn to increase vitality and function with simultaneous stability and mobility.

“After many years of Korean martial arts practice with other women, I had knee problems that also affected my lower back.  After one session with Margot I danced for the first time in years.”    -AK
