Qigong is ancient, holistic

Qigong is an ancient, holistic system of health care. Qi is often translated as universal life force, gong means work or endeavor. Whereas this system traditionally included herbology, lifestyle, spiritual path and exercises, modern practices often focus on the movements or exercises designed to support all aspects of healthy living. One cultivates her/his qi and relates it to the larger qi field – of the entire universe. Science now concurs with this understanding that all things are made of energy.

Qigong supports the balance of relationship within one’s body and organ systems, psyche, and connection to the human and spirit worlds. Health is about the relationship of elements, it is reflected in the whole person. When an aspect is out of balance, it influences the whole – thus all healing is about the relationship of the parts.

It is easier to maintain health than to recover from illness. For this reason, I do a daily practice on-line with my Qigong class students. In this practice we Promote Wellness, and intend to Maintain Harmony within oneself, between oneself and others, and with the world. A regular practice reduces stress and anxiety and supports a relaxed motivation; each person taps into her/his own wisdom.

There are hundreds of distinct Qigong (or Chi gung) traditions. I have learned from several different Qigong traditions, and from western healing systems. I studied with an Apache shaman and his protégé for many years, and I am a Reiki Master. I give readings of energy and healings, and teach others to channel Reiki. “Ki” of Reiki is the Japanese equivalent of the Chinese “Qi”. My focus throughout all modalities is guiding people to develop their natural capacity to heal themselves.

All healing has commonality and addresses the wholeness of the person. As with any specialty, you will find the practice and teacher who resonate with you.

In addition to daily morning practice for everyone, my on-going Qigong class in which we deepen through a multitude of practices is now offered on-line weekly. My next in-person class will be at Fitness Works in Morro Bay, CA on May 29th, 2023 at 8:15am. Contact me if you are interested in attending online or in-person.
